The Tallinn Old Town city wall and Kiek in de Kök Tower are among the best-preserved medieval fortifications in Europe. This impressive wall connects several towers, the most famous being Kiek in de Kök, built in the 16th century. Once the most powerful defensive tower in the Baltic region, its name comes from German and means “Peek into the kitchen,” as it was possible to look into nearby homes from its top. Today, the tower houses a museum, and underground tunnels beneath it can be explored with a guide. Walking along the wall, you’ll discover history, breathtaking views, and the unique atmosphere of the past.
