The Governor’s Garden, also known as the Toompea Castle Garden, was established around 1773 when the former fortress was reconstructed for the needs of the Estonian Provincial Government. After 1820, when part of the defensive walls was demolished, the area was transformed into an open landscape garden – a peaceful retreat for locals and travelers. Today, it is a charming park with views of Toompea Castle, perfect for quiet walks surrounded by history.
