Kaukas Stairs – a historic site in Kaunas connecting the city center with Žaliakalnis. Built in 1936, they quickly became a symbol of interwar Kaunas. The area once featured an impressive fountain with three pools, surrounded by a peaceful oasis. During the Soviet era, the stairs underwent changes, but restoration began in the early 21st century. The fountain was revived in 2000, and a major reconstruction took place in 2018–2019. Today, Kaukas Stairs once again captivate visitors with their authentic granite steps, modern lighting, and refreshed surroundings. It is one of the most beautiful spots in Kaunas, perfect for walks and exploring the city's history.
