The Ninth Fort is one of the defensive fortifications of the Kaunas Fortress and an important historical monument. The museum housed here presents the military architecture of the Kaunas Fortress, as well as weaponry and equipment from World War I. Visitors can explore authentic posterns and defensive walls. The exhibitions reveal the historical tragedies of the 20th century, including NKVD repressions, Nazi crimes, the Kaunas Ghetto, and the massacre of Jews. A striking 32-meter-high monument marks the site of mass executions. The museum offers guided tours, educational programs, and commemorative events, as well as an option to use an audio guide.
