The sculpture "Chest" is an artistic work created by Professor Romualdas Inčirauskas, with architect Professor Algirdas Žebrauskas. The sculpture serves as a reminder of the importance of the Jewish diaspora in Telšiai, which was once the heart of the Jewish community in Samogitia and a wide geographical area. Telšiai was known as one of the most important Jewish centers in Lithuania, where in 1873 the Jewish higher school "YESHIVA" was established, and the Telšiai method for Torah teachers spread worldwide. The chief rabbi of Lithuania lived and worked in Telšiai, and the first Jewish girls' secondary school and banks were established, with the Jewish community being both large and wealthy. The sculpture "Chest" is dedicated to the contribution of this historic community to the culture and businesses of Telšiai and the entire Samogitia region.
