Located in Žemaičių Kalvarija (Alsėdžių St. 3), the Vytautas Mačernis Museum invites visitors to immerse themselves in the life and creative legacy of the distinguished Lithuanian poet Vytautas Mačernis. Established in 1987 through the efforts of poet Eugenijus Matuzevičius and the local community, the museum showcases a rich collection of exhibits: from authentic poetry books of the poet to personal belongings, photographs, and documents. This exhibition focuses on the essence of Mačernis's work and his life story, meticulously documented by local historian Konstantinas Bružas, teachers Jonas Nėniškis and Elena Nėniškienė, and librarian Vita Garbenčienė. The museum is a place where poetry, history, and cultural heritage converge, offering a deep dive into the poetic world of Vytautas Mačernis.
