The Samogitian Village Museum is a unique open-air ethnographic site located on an 8.5-hectare area along the southwestern shore of Lake Mastis. A branch of the Samogitian Museum "Alka," it preserves the spirit of a 19th–early 20th century Samogitian rural settlement. The museum features three authentic homesteads, a small cemetery, a windmill, and a blacksmith's forge, along with traditional animals such as Žemaitukai horses, sheep, and goats.

Visitors are invited to participate in educational programs and events, learn about traditional crafts, and explore Samogitian customs. Annual highlights include Shrovetide celebrations, barn theater performances, and the "Žemaitiu gīvastis" festival. Renovated in 2012, the museum is now accessible to visitors with mobility impairments.

Located on the southwestern shore of Lake Mastis, the Samogitian Village Museum is one of the largest ethnographic museums in Lithuania. Spanning 8.5 hectares, this branch of the Samogitian Museum "Alka" recreates a late 19th to early 20th-century Samogitian rural settlement. The museum features three authentic homesteads, a small cemetery, a windmill, and a blacksmith's forge. It also preserves traditional Samogitian livestock practices, with Žemaitukai horses, sheep, goats, and rabbits raised on-site. The museum's history dates back to 1963, when plans for regional folk life museums were initiated. Officially opened to visitors in 1982, the Samogitian Village Museum underwent renovations in 2012, transforming it into
a modern cultural heritage center, accessible to visitors with mobility impairments. Exhibits showcase the authentic life of a Samogitian village, including furniture, tools, household items, and crosses. The museum hosts various events such as Shrovetide celebrations, night dances, barn theater performances, and the annual Žemaitiu gīvastis festival, which aims to preserve Samogitian identity. Visitors can also participate in educational programs that introduce traditional crafts and Samogitian customs. The Samogitian Village Museum is a place where the authentic heritage of Samogitian rural life is preserved, inviting visitors to not only learn about the past but also experience traditional Samogitian culture.
