In 1914, farmers from Inkakliai created a replica of the Lourdes Grotto on a high slope by the roadside, featuring a statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary and a small spring. According to legend, a small stone from Christ’s tomb in Jerusalem, brought back by Prelate J. Maciejauskas, was embedded at Mary's feet. A nearby well, containing water mixed with that from the original Lourdes Grotto in France, is said to have miraculous properties.
Later, a brick chapel was built near the grotto, which was renovated in 1989. This sacred site continues to attract pilgrims and tourists seeking spiritual solace and inspiration.
