Svencelė Bog, located in the heart of the Svencelė Telmological Reserve, is one of the natural treasures spanning 1206 hectares across the Klaipėda and Šilutė districts. Established in 1992 with the goal of protecting botanical and zoological diversity, the reserve is home to raised bog habitats that are incredibly important for the conservation of natural diversity.
Included in the Natura 2000 network since 2004, Svencelė Bog is valued for its unique habitats, such as degraded raised bogs, natural dystrophic lakes, active raised bogs, and bog forests. The protection of these habitats is essential for maintaining biodiversity and ecosystem functions.
