Ieva Simonaitytė's legacy is closely tied to the town of Priekulė, where the renowned writer built and lived in her summer residence by the Minija River from 1961 to 1978. In 1980, this summer residence was transformed into the Ieva Simonaitytė Memorial Museum, becoming an important cultural site. In addition to the museum, the Ieva Simonaitytė Gymnasium was established in Priekulė, and a monument dedicated to the writer, "Šventvakarių Ėvė," was erected in the town center, highlighting her personality and contribution to Lithuanian literature.
The monument, located at the intersection of Klaipėda and Turgaus Streets in the center of Priekulė, was unveiled in 1997. It was inspired by sculptor Dalia Matulaitė, with the architectural design created by Rimantas Buivydas and Jūras Balkevičius. This artistic creation not only honors the memory of Ieva Simonaitytė but also serves as an important cultural and historical landmark, attracting visitors and literature enthusiasts.
