The Marijampolė Marian Monastery Museum, located in the historic monastery building, invites tourists to explore significant aspects of Lithuanian and religious history. The museum began its operations on July 1, 2011, and currently offers four exhibitions that reveal not only the life story of Blessed Archbishop Jurgis Matulaitis but also the activities of the Marian Order and the Sisters of the Poor. The main exhibition, "Blessed Archbishop Jurgis Matulaitis," showcases his spiritual life and work as a priest, monk, bishop, and diplomat. Visitors can view his personal items, writings, documents, and photographs. The gallery "White Marians" presents the history of the city of Marijampolė and the Marian
Monastery. Here, one can see authentic 18th-century portraits and liturgical items donated by Countess Pranciška Ščiukaitė-Butlerienė. The exhibition "Centenary of the Sisters of the Poor Congregation" tells the story of the women's congregation founded by Jurgis Matulaitis and its expansion in Lithuania and beyond. Meanwhile, the "Ministry of Printing" exhibition is dedicated to the history of the Sisters of the Poor's printing house "Šešupė" and the underground press. The museum offers guided tours and educational programs tailored to various visitor groups, making it an excellent destination for tourists eager to deepen their knowledge of Lithuania's religious and cultural history.
