The symbolism of the masonry fence, immortalized by artist Žilvinas Kempinas, is based on the Lithuanian folk saying, "Even fences bloom in one’s homeland." This work responds to the hardships experienced during the pandemic, when many could not return to their native land. The blooming fence becomes a metaphor for the longing and nostalgia for home felt by those far away. This architectural barrier, reminiscent of a window to one's homeland, reflects deep emotions and memories related to home and loved ones.
The author of this drawing is Žilvinas Kempinas.
