Marijampolė is known for its football team, „Sūduva“, and the international motorway „Via Baltica“, which runs through Šunskai and is one of the main north-south transport arteries. For those seeking unique experiences, a visit to the reflexology trail in Šunskai is recommended. This 88-meter-long trail allows you to experience walking barefoot over a variety of surfaces, from football turf to asphalt and even glass shards. The reflexology trail is designed based on the health philosophy of Sebastian Kneipp, a German philosopher and priest, which is rooted in a system of five elements where movement plays a crucial
role. Starting on synthetic football turf, you'll continue across the asphalt of the „Via Baltica“, the gravel of the „Rail Baltica“ railway, old cobblestones of Marijampolė city, and many other natural surfaces. One of the most intriguing sections of the trail is the extreme area with glass shards, which provides a particularly intense sensory experience. As you walk the trail, visitors can admire colorful dahlias—there are 200 varieties of these stunning flowers planted here. After the intense barefoot sensations, the nervous system can be calmed by observing a kinetic sculpture located beside the trail.
