The Vilkaviškis Oil Press is a unique piece of technical heritage in the Suvalkija region, where flaxseed oil is cold-pressed using authentic 1920s German equipment. Built in 1932, the building survived the war and was converted into an oil press in 1947.
Since 1997, the oil press was managed by Zetas Karuža, and in 2005, his daughter Rasa Karužaitė-Gudaitienė continued the family tradition. With an engineering background, she decided to carry on the oil-pressing craft started by her grandfather.
The Vilkaviškis Oil Press not only produces high-quality flaxseed oil but also serves as a living symbol of history and tradition, showcasing ancient production methods in the Suvalkija region.
