The Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Šilavotas is located in the village of Šilavotas, 12 km northwest of Prienai. This church is built in the historicist style with prominent Neo-Gothic elements. In addition to the church, the Šilavotas parish also includes the chapels of Žarsta and Klebiškis.
In 1806, a wooden chapel was built in Šilavotas, where priests from Prienai occasionally held services. In 1895, thanks to the efforts of Antanas Radušis, the vicar of Skriaudžiai, a parish was established. He repaired the chapel, and built a rectory and farm buildings. Between 1898 and 1902, the current brick church was constructed under the initiative of Father A. Radušis. In 1907, a branch of the "Žiburys" society was established in the church, led by Father Juozas Vaičaitis. The church is equipped with an organ made by the famous master Jonas Garalevičius.
The Šilavotas Church has a rectangular plan with an apse and two towers, and features three naves inside.
