Juozas Liaudanskis is a well-known Lithuanian folk artist and stone sculptor. His sculptures adorn the town of Kelmė, where he lived most of his life, as well as cemeteries in Kelmė, Stulgiai, Žalpiai, Kurtuvėnai, Tytuvėnai, Lioliai, Marijampolė, and other locations. As an adult, he moved to Kelmė. With an inclination towards art, he would carefully examine sculptures created by other sculptors in cemeteries and began working on stone monuments himself. Initially, his work did not succeed immediately, requiring many corrections and rework until achieving the desired results. Later, he began creating decorative sculptures such as "Book Carrier," "Recruiter," and others, which have been exhibited in many exhibitions in Lithuania and abroad.

His monuments are characterized by symmetry and balance of individual parts, sculptural decor, and they are assembled from several separate parts. The monuments are decorated with sculptures, most of which are religious in nature, maintaining the folk tradition of wooden sculptures. Great attention is paid to the detailed modeling of the head, which is typical of wooden folk sculptures.
