Mečislovas Ežerskis, who lives in Kelmė, has carved over 3,700 canes. In 2009, Mečislovas's canes were certified and recognized as a national heritage product. There is no other cane master like him in Lithuania. According to the master, each cane is unique, and you won't find or make another one like it. The longest cane Mečislovas has made is two meters long, and the shortest is fifteen centimeters. Mečislovas Ežerskis had long envisioned creating a cane museum. After not receiving the promised help, he decided to take action – he sold his one-room apartment on the fifth floor, bought a wooden house, and moved in with all his canes, establishing the museum.
