Cēsis Castle Park is one of the town’s most charming spots, welcoming visitors in both summer and winter. Established in 1812 following the fashion of romantic landscape parks, it features a picturesque pond inhabited by swans and ducks. Within the park stands Riekstu Hill, and a highlight is the fountain “Fisherman with a Catfish” created by sculptor Andrejs Jansons in 1961. From the upper terrace, ornate stone stairs with sculptures lead down to the park. In winter, the park becomes a fun destination for ice skating and sledding. It’s a perfect place for a walk and to enjoy the harmony of history and nature.
