The Folk Fishing Craft Museum offers a vivid glimpse into the life of fishermen along the Gauja River. Established in 2013, it tells the story of traditional fishing techniques, ancestral knowledge, and modern-day practices. The scent of fish still lingers here, and the nets are damp. The guide not only shares fishermen’s history but also invites visitors to try fishing themselves. In summer, the museum hosts bonfire evenings to reflect on the protection of Gauja’s nature. Visits are available by prior arrangement only.
