The Ķempji Evangelical Lutheran Church is one of the most intriguing historical churches in Latvia, located near the Jaunķempji Manor. First mentioned in 1669, it was once known as St. Ignatius Chapel. The current stone church was built in 1882 after the original was destroyed by a hurricane. Its construction was funded by the noble Wolf family, and the altar painting was consecrated back in 1849. This church is a fine example of 19th-century Latvian sacred architecture, known for its simplicity and rich historical background. The church can be viewed from the outside at any time, while interior visits require prior registration. Services are held on Sundays at 1 PM. A hidden gem for those interested in peaceful, cultural, or religious tourism in Latvia.
