Ieriķi Mill is a unique place for rest and discovery between Sigulda and Cēsis, located at the 72nd kilometer of the Vidzeme highway. Here, nature and one family have created a space where romance, history, and the magic of water come together. Visitors can walk along the Melderupe River waterfalls—one of which is the third highest in Latvia. In autumn, you can witness salmon migrating to spawn, trying to overcome the waterfall's current. The site features the 350-year-old ruins of a mill, first recorded in 1681 on the Ieriķi Manor map. Today, one of the largest water wheels in the Baltics, named Jorģis’ Wheel in honor of the family's ancestor, turns once again. Guests can also enjoy engaging activities, like searching for “water spirits” along the riverbanks. It’s a place where history, nature, and family heritage merge into an unforgettable experience for nature lovers, families, and travelers.
