The Amata River Long Circular Trail is one of the most scenic and challenging nature trails in Latvia, stretching 15 km from the Kārļi Fish Farm to Zvārte Rock and back. Marked with orange signs on trees, this route is intended for experienced hikers – the trail can be slippery in wet weather, and the terrain demands good physical fitness. The trail passes through stunning Gauja National Park landscapes, revealing 350–400 million-year-old sandstone and dolomite outcrops such as Ainavu Cliff, Zvārte Rock, and other geological wonders. In autumn, vibrant foliage and spawning fish in the Amata River offer additional sights. The return route takes you through the impressive Kārļi Oak Alley, leaving a lasting impression on all nature lovers.
