The sculpture “The Song of Freedom,” erected in 1974 next to the Vilnius–Velžiai road, depicts a woman holding a freedom flag high above her head. The monument was created by sculptor Antanas Dimžlys, with architect Tautvydas Miknevičius. Although originally intended for Jonava, it was later decided to install it in Panevėžys to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the city’s liberation from fascist occupation. This monument is considered one of the most significant works of Dimžlys’s monumental art and is listed in the Register of Cultural Values. It stands as a powerful symbol of freedom, history, and art in the Panevėžys region.
