In Palanga, on Daukantas Street, near the Antanas Mončys House-Museum, stands a monument to the Samogitian volunteer soldiers. Created by sculptor J. Jagėla, the monument was unveiled in 2014 and is dedicated to the memory of the Samogitian volunteer soldiers who fought for independence between 1918 and 1991. The construction of the monument was initiated by the Commander of the Lithuanian Army A. Pocius, the Ministry of National Defense, and the 3rd Samogitian District Battalion. This monument symbolizes the struggle and sacrifice for Lithuania's freedom.
