The Palanga Amber Museum, opened on August 3, 1963, in the Count Feliksas Tiškevičius' manor, is one of the most visited museums in Lithuania and belongs to the Lithuanian National Museum of Art. Located in the majestic palace in the center of Birutė Park, it houses one of the largest collections of amber inclusions and rarities in the world, with over 30,000 exhibits. Since the spring of 2021, the museum has updated its exhibitions, inviting visitors to explore not only the grand palace but also learn about the formation and use of amber. The updated exhibition includes both old and previously unseen exhibits, with a new lighting system creating an even more
impressive atmosphere. Visitors can immerse themselves in history and learn about the Tiškevičius family's contributions to culture and amber collection. The museum also offers engaging experiences for children – a space has been set up on the lower floor where children can play and color a book about amber. The museum is also accessible to people with disabilities, as the old entrance from the west side with an elevator provides barrier-free access to the exhibition. The Amber Museum is not only an educational but also a cultural space where visitors can relax and enjoy coffee in the museum café, as well as purchase various amber souvenirs and jewelry.
