In Palanga, at Vytauto Street 70, near the city district prosecutor's office, stands a monument to Liudas Vaineikis – a doctor, cultural figure, and organizer of Lithuanian press delivery. The monument is located at the site where, until 1973, there was a house where Liudas and his wife, writer Stasė Vaineikienė, lived intermittently from 1897 to 1941.
Liudas Vaineikis (1869–1938) was an active participant in the national revival movement and was elected as the deputy mayor of Palanga in 1933. The bust, created by sculptor J. Jagėla, along with a memorial plaque, honors not only Vaineikis' contribution but also his wife's role in Palanga's and Lithuania's cultural heritage.
