The metal arch bridge over the Šyša River, built in 1914, is an important technical and historical landmark in Šilutė. Designed by engineer Fabian, it connects the Šilutė–Rusnė road, which at the time was the only land route to Rusnė Island. This engineering marvel was funded by the state and represents early 20th-century bridge construction technologies.
The bridge is 40 meters long, 5 meters wide, and 3.5 meters high. Its yellow-painted arches, stone foundations, and pedestrian pathways give it a distinctive charm. It is not only a vital transport artery but also an urban heritage monument in Šilutė’s old town, attracting tourists and history enthusiasts alike.
