Dauginčiai Hillfort, also known as Pilalė or Pilis, stands on the left bank of the Minija River at the confluence with the Slinkupis stream. The hillfort dates back to the late 1st millennium – early 2nd millennium CE, when a wooden fort stood at this site. The hillfort is bordered by the valleys of the Slinkupis and Minija rivers and is now covered by a young pine forest. In 2002, the Salantai Regional Park Directorate installed an informational marker (designed by Arvydas Klovas) to highlight the historical significance of this site.

Nearby lies the Šilpelkė Nature Trail, which begins at the Plague Chapel, marked by crosses and small shrines, and ascends the highland slope to a striking 22-meter Minija River escarpment. From here, visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of the Minija bend, often referred to by locals as the "Switzerland of Lithuania." The area also features a rare hornbeam grove, one of the northernmost in Lithuania.
