The Prystovai Hillfort site, also known as Pilis, Pilalė, or Dyburio Pilalė, is believed to be the location of a former hillfort at the confluence of the Minija and Mišupė rivers. According to legends, a castle once stood here where Samogitians valiantly defended themselves against the Crusaders and Swedes. Although no archaeological fortifications or cultural layers remain, it is thought that the hillfort was washed away by the Minija River. Today, the name Pilis is associated with a corner of the highland and an exposed slope, serving as a reminder of the historical significance of this place.
