Rokiškis’ symbol, the hare sculpture, invites visitors to share their wishes. According to tradition, whispering a wish into the hare’s ear will make it come true. This sculpture has become a popular attraction for both locals and tourists, offering a playful and memorable experience.
The sculpture was unveiled in the town center, near the Jonas Keliuotis Public Library, on May 7, 2019, in celebration of the Day of Press Restoration, Language, and Book. Created by artists S. Plotnikovas and S. Druskys, the sculpture not only embodies the town’s symbol but also highlights the importance of free expression. This charming and meaningful artwork draws visitors not just for its playful nature but also for its cultural significance in the life of Rokiškis.
