Although Synagogue Street still exists in Rokiškis, not a single synagogue remains there today. Before 1941, the town was home to four synagogues: one on Pirties Street and three on what is now Synagogue Street. These three synagogues had distinct functions and colors representing the Lithuanian tricolor: the yellow synagogue was for Talmud students, the green for the wealthy and heads of families, and the red (main) synagogue was open to all community members. It is said that the red synagogue was haunted, so it was rarely used. Unfortunately, all the synagogues were burned down by the Nazis during World War II.
In 2015, an information stand was erected on Synagogue Street to commemorate the Jewish community of Rokiškis and its former synagogues. This is a significant cultural and historical site that attracts tourists and history enthusiasts.
