Geldėnai Cemetery, located near the village of Kruopiai, is a site of unique archaeological heritage dating from the 8th–12th centuries. Located in the northern part of Kruopiai village, Geldėnai Cemetery is an important archaeological site with deep historical and cultural significance. This cemetery, dating back to the 8th–12th centuries, is situated 500 meters from the Katupys stream reservoir, near Kaimynų Street. An elongated hill, approximately 150 x 50 meters, extends into the valley slope, with slopes ranging from 1 to 6 meters in height, giving the site a distinctive geographical feature. This burial site is known as a Curonian tribal cemetery, where the deceased were buried both cremated and uncremated. Archaeological investigations have uncovered

58 significant artifacts, such as socketed spearheads, axes, horseshoe-shaped brooches, and hollow bracelets. These findings, preserved on the surface, provide insight into the culture and customs of ancient inhabitants. Geldėnai Cemetery was officially registered in the Lithuanian Cultural Heritage Register on February 25, 2015, with the unique object number 38320. This site is an important cultural heritage object, attracting the attention of archaeologists, historians, and tourists interested in Lithuanian history and culture.
