In the village of Notėnai, on the left bank of the Notė River, stands the wooden Church of St. Catherine the Martyr. This twin-towered, cross-shaped church is distinguished by its unique stone wall enclosure. Its history dates back to 1789 when a church was built in place of a chapel. In 1906, it was expanded, a tower was added, and in 1929 it became a parish church. Long-serving priest Stanislovas Vaitelis not only restored its exterior but also became an integral part of the parish. In early autumn, locals gather for the "Apple Festival" and observe the original gates, once adorned with sculptures. A cross near the church commemorates women's prayers for soldiers.
