The Utena City Garden is a small yet cozy park spanning 2.65 hectares, located right in the city center, making it perfect for a short rest and relaxation. Established around 1930, the park was renovated in 2009 to meet the modern needs of visitors. Adjacent to the park is the building of the Second Riflemen’s Union, constructed in 1933, alongside which stands the oak tree of President Antanas Smetona—a significant historical symbol. The City Garden features many valuable old trees, while also introducing new plants, creating relaxation spaces and decorative sculptures. Visitors can enjoy views from the sloped terraces, stroll along the paths, or sit on benches. The main path of the park, leading toward the Riflemen’s House, serves as the primary compositional axis of the City Garden. This park, along with Dauniškis and Vyžuona parks, forms a connection that runs throughout the city of Utena.
