During the 1863 uprising, a group of 300 insurgents led by K. Maleckis was located in the Minčia area. On May 4, the Tsar's army attacked and dispersed this group, resulting in the deaths of six insurgents. They were buried near the village of Minčia, in the forest cemetery.
On September 13, 2013, Canon Bronius Šlapelis, the pastor of the St. George Parish in Tauragnai, consecrated a wooden pillar in the Minčia cemetery, created by Dr. Romualdas Šimkūnas, in honor of the insurgents' memory.
