The Sisters of Divine Providence began their activities in Utena on May 21, 2012, and are deeply rooted in the tradition of Panevėžys. The founder of the monastery, Marija Rusteikaitė, responded to God’s call to become love and assistance to those in need by observing the struggles of impoverished families. Today, the Sisters of Divine Providence actively serve the Church in Lithuania, following the mission of their founder, and their work encompasses three main areas: charitable, pastoral, and educational.

The Sisters of Divine Providence began their activities in Utena on May 21, 2012, and are deeply rooted in the tradition of Panevėžys. Today, the Sisters of Divine Providence actively serve the Church in Lithuania, following the mission of their founder, and their work encompasses three main areas: charitable, pastoral, and educational. The sisters aim to cultivate people's self-awareness, strengthen faith, and encourage a conscious Christian life within the Church. They strive to help individuals better understand Christian values and apply them in their
daily lives. Currently, four out of the twenty sisters working throughout Lithuania reside in Utena. The monastery's hospitality is characterized by their openness, as they organize evening prayer gatherings at 7 PM every day except Monday, which is the sisters' day of solitude, welcoming anyone interested. Additionally, various exhibitions, educational activities for student groups, and seminars on Christian topics take place in the monastery's conference hall. The monastery chapel invites all those seeking closeness to God. Before Easter, on Holy Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, a solemn evening of prayer is held at the monastery. Tours must be arranged in advance, and the sisters warmly welcome all interested parties.
