According to history, in 1925, an 82-year-old farmer named Justinas Vitkauskas, deeply devout, donated 39.5 hectares of land for the future house of worship. The current wooden church was built from 1933 to 1934 and is characterized by folk architectural forms and a rectangular plan. This single-nave, modern-style sanctuary has become an important place for the community.
The interior of the church was completed in 1935, with one of the most striking features being the main altar. This altar, notable for its rare Art Deco style in Lithuania, is adorned with the sculpture "Sacred Heart of Jesus" by the early works of Lithuanian sculptor Bernardas Bučas, which further enriches the church's spiritual atmosphere.
