Krekenava Regional Park was established in 1992 with the aim of preserving the Nevėžis River valley landscape, its natural ecosystem, and cultural heritage. The park covers an area of 11,968 hectares, with 87 hectares located in Kėdainiai District and the remaining part in Panevėžys District. This park is an ideal destination for nature lovers and those who wish to explore the history of the region. One of the park's most interesting landmarks is the Bakainiai Hillfort, which is not only an important archaeological monument but also attracts tourists with its unique surroundings. Another highlight is the Krekenava Regional Park Visitor Center, just 28 kilometers from Kėdainiai. Here, you can explore the

playful exhibit "The Diversity of Nevėžis River Oxbows" and climb the 30-meter-high observation tower. From the tower, visitors are treated to stunning views of the Nevėžis valley, horseshoe-shaped oxbows, small lakes, Krekenava town with its basilica towers, and the green plains of Central Lithuania. Near the visitor center, there is the unique "Senses Trail," stretching 0.5 km. Visitors can feel the energy of nature and relax by floating on water, walking barefoot on a sensory path, or listening to the natural sounds of the forest.
