Kučgaliai Spring has an intriguing history linked to events from 1946. At that time, Russia was experiencing a significant oil shortage, which led to oil exploration efforts even in Lithuania. Although oil was not found, clean water began to flow from the wells near Kučgaliai. Over time, the area around the spring was developed – initially, buildings were constructed, and later a shelter was added. In 2015, the spring area was extensively renovated: a fire pit was installed, the birch grove was tidied up, a new gazebo was built, and the shelter was refurbished. The water from Kučgaliai Spring flows into the Apaščia River.
