At the northern foot of the Parnidis Dune lies the Valley of Silence, a serene place surrounded by other dunes. In 1991, to commemorate the restoration of Lithuania's independence, a roadside post was erected at the beginning of the valley.
This is where the Parnidis Nature Trail begins.
