In the Valley of Silence, near the lagoon, the sculpture was unveiled in 2014. This almost 5-meter-tall oak artwork symbolizes the legend of the giantess Neringa, who is said to have created the Curonian Spit. According to the staff of the Curonian Spit National Park Directorate, who oversaw this initiative, "Neringa's Chair" is not just an artistic sculpture; anyone who wishes can climb up and sit on it.
The sculptor is Albertas Danilevičius.
