The oldest monument in Jurbarkas is dedicated to Vytautas the Great. It was erected in 1930 by the sculptor Vincas Grybas, who had moved to live in the city in 1928. This bust monument is characterized by its romantic elevation, historical ornamentation, intricate technique, and excellent material quality, which has protected the monument's form from the effects of nature. During the Soviet occupation, this monument was barbarously vandalized, with many important details destroyed: it was stripped of its national symbols, and the commemorative plaque was removed. In 1990, the monument was restored. This site is where the residents of Jurbarkas celebrate national holidays.
