The Red Tower is the oldest surviving building in Pärnu, built in the 15th century as part of the medieval city fortifications. Until the 19th century, it served as the city prison. The tower got its name from the red brick trim. Of its original four storeys, three remain. Today, it houses a branch of the Pärnu Museum, including a panoramic cinema presenting the history of the medieval town.
