Aukštoji Freda Manor is a historic landmark in Kaunas, established in the 17th century. Over the years, it belonged to the Pacas, Godlevskis, and Gauronskis families before becoming part of the Kaunas Fortress in the 19th century. After World War I, the manor was restored and housed a Horticulture and Gardening School, later becoming the home of Vytautas Magnus University Botanical Garden in 1923. The manor's park stands out for its picturesque landscape design and unique ponds, which were shaped to form the initials “G” and “J” of nobleman Juozas Godlevskis. Today, Aukštoji Freda Manor remains an important part of Kaunas' cultural and natural heritage.

Aukštoji Freda Manor is a historic architectural and natural heritage site in Kaunas, located on the left bank of the Nemunas River, in today's Ž. E. Žilibero Street. Its history dates back to the 17th century when Grand Duchy of Lithuania Chancellor Kristupas Zigmantas Pacas granted these lands to nobleman Liudvikas Fredas. Later, in 1795, the estate was acquired by landowner Juozas Godlevskis, who built a Classical-style palace. In the 19th century, it belonged to the Gauronskis family before eventually becoming state property. By the late 19th century, the manor became part of the Kaunas Fortress, housing soldiers, an artillery yard,

and newly built roads and railway lines. Some of its buildings were destroyed during World War I but were restored during the interwar period. In 1920, a Horticulture and Gardening School was established on the estate, followed by the founding of the Vytautas Magnus University Botanical Garden in 1923, which remains there to this day. The manor park is distinguished by its picturesque landscape design and a unique pond layout, originally forming the initials "G" and "J" of the estate's founder. Though these letter-shaped ponds have faded over time, Aukštoji Freda Manor Park remains one of Kaunas' most unique and historically rich sites.
