The Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Star of the Sea in Šventoji is an important spiritual center for the Šventoji Catholic community, with a history dating back to 1939. At that time, a temporary church was built by Prelate Dr. Jurgis Galdikas near the Šventoji River. The new church, designed by architects R. Krištapavičius and G. Aperavičius, began construction in 1991, and was consecrated in 2003 by Bishop J. Boruta.

The church's tower has an observation deck, which is reached by 200 steps. Although there is no elevator, the climb is definitely worth it, as it offers a stunning panoramic view of Šventoji: the sea, the port, the town, and on clear days, even Palanga.

The Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Star of the Sea in Šventoji is an important center for religious and community gatherings. The Catholic parish was established here in 1939, with its first administrator being Father A. Račkauskas, the chaplain of President Antanas Smetona's ship. Prelate Dr. Jurgis Galdikas financed and built the temporary parish church near the Šventoji River. The new church, designed by architects R. Krištapavičius and G. Aperavičius, began construction in 1991, and was consecrated in 2003 by Bishop J. Boruta. The church serves not only the permanent
residents of Šventoji but also attracts vacationers during the summer. The parish is home to youth groups, family centers, and Catholic organizations. The church tower features an observation deck offering a bird's-eye view of Šventoji. To reach the platform, which is about 40 meters high, one must climb 200 steps, as there is currently no elevator. However, the effort is rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of the port, sea, authentic houses, and, on sunny days, even Palanga. As visitors say, "From above, all the beauty of Šventoji unfolds like on the palm of your hand."
