The 4-meter-tall sculpture "The Fisherman's Daughters," located in the dunes of Šventoji and created by Zuzana Pranaitytė, has been a symbol of Šventoji since 1982. The image of three girls waiting for their fisherman father carries a deeper meaning – it is an allegory of the three Baltic States. In 2016, it was revealed that the girls are looking to the West, symbolizing countries seeking help and striving for freedom from Soviet occupation. The sculpture demanded much effort from the artist – the sketches were revised nine times. L. Wahl, the sculptor's niece, recalls how, as a teenager, she posed for the piece, which was eventually cast in metal in Leningrad. This artwork embodies both artistic and historical context.
