The Palanga Evangelical Lutheran Church is an important place for the Lutheran community. The parish was founded in the early 20th century and initially operated in the house of pharmacist Oskar Berting, where a special worship room was set up. The community consisted of Lithuanians, Latvians, and Germans, so the sermons were delivered in three languages.
The first parish house, consecrated in 1928, was destroyed by fire in 1938, and during the Soviet era, the church's activities were banned. The parish was restored in 1993, and in 2005, the cornerstone for the construction of a new church on Saulėtekio Street was consecrated. This church was designed by architects Irena and Gintas Likšai.
