In Vilnius, in front of the National Museum of Lithuania, stands the monument to Mindaugas, the only King of Lithuania, unveiled in 2003 to commemorate the 750th anniversary of his coronation. This 3.5-meter-tall sculpture, created by artist Regimantas Midvikis, depicts Mindaugas seated on a throne, holding the royal symbols of power—a scepter and an orb. Surrounding the monument is a solar calendar, symbolizing the fusion of pagan and Christian traditions.
