The Vilnius City Wall Bastion, located by the defensive wall, now serves as a museum that tells the story of the armed forces and defense history of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. The bastion’s exhibition presents the oldest firearms and various types of artillery, including grenades, mortars, and 17th–18th century mobile cannons. The museum invites visitors to explore the details of defense practices and intriguing historical facts, such as the Hussar cavalry, Kazimieras Simonavičius’ first European artillery manual, and other fascinating artifacts.
