The Church of St. Michael the Archangel in Žemaičių Naumiestis, built in 1782 under the initiative of Mykolas Ronikeris, is a remarkable example of wooden folk architecture with Neo-Gothic features. It is located on the Vanagai Hillfort, also known as Green Hill, an archaeological site. The church preserves valuable religious art, including ancient paintings, sculptures, an organ, and 19th-century ornate iron crosses. In 1890, a wooden chapel post with an iron cross was erected in the churchyard. Wooden sculptures such as Christ at the Column, Crucified Jesus, and Jesus of Nazareth highlight the church's artistic significance. This architectural and spiritual heritage site remains a key attraction.
